The Dordogne region, located in southwest France between the Loire Valley and the Pyrenees, is known for its rolling green hills, medieval villages, limestone cliffs, and slow-moving rivers.

Château La Carrière is a thoughtfully restored 17th-century castle set amidst 28 hectares of private parkland in the charming village of Saint-Cyprien.

Travel

The closest international airport to the château is Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport (BOD). From there, it's about a 2hr drive to the Château. That being said, there are numerous ways to reach the Dordogne region from various international airports in France and Europe, including train and car rentals.

Let us know if you'd like any help or suggestions with travel planning!

How We're Getting There

For our own travel, we’ll be flying Vancouver (YVR) - London (LGW), then booking a separate London (LGW) - Bordeaux (BOD) flight with a European airline. We’ve found this approach offers better pricing and more flight availability than booking “Vancouver to Bordeaux” directly. From Bordeaux we’ll be renting a car for the drive into Dordogne.

Ground Transportation

From Bordeaux we’ll be renting a car for the drive into Dordogne, but can arrange a group shuttle if there is enough interest. Let us know in your RSVP if you’d prefer a shuttle.

Accommodation

Château La Carrière has limited (8) guest rooms which we are first holding for our wedding party. However, the charming village of Saint-Cyprien (Dordogne) and the surrounding valley offer plentiful Airbnbs, boutique inns, and countryside gîtes within a short drive of the château.

Rsvp

We understand that not all of our friends and family will be able to join us, especially considering the short notice and travel. We will be hosting a wedding reception back in Vancouver in late August, for which a separate invite will be sent.

To the parents: while we adore your kids, we are keeping the Wedding Day + Evening adults-only so everyone can relax and enjoy the celebration.

We cannot wait to celebrate with you!
